Nina and Nand is more than just a name; it's a tribute to two remarkable women who broke barriers and embodied strength. Nina Shine, Aliyah's great-grandmother, was a trailblazer who championed women's rights and education, never meeting a glass ceiling she couldn't shatter. Nand Kaur Singh, one of the first Indian women to settle in the United States, arrived in Yuba City in 1924. She played a pivotal role in the community, offering guidance to newcomers and helping establish a local Gurdwara. Known affectionately as "Mother" in the community, Nand Kaur's legacy of leadership and compassion continues to inspire.

 

Nina and Nand LLC is a reflection of the bond between Aliyah Shine and her daughter, Veda, who spent her early years within the walls of Nina Hive, falling in love with all things boutique. Together, they bring to life a curated collection that honors the past while embracing the future.
